E/M By Magnetron Method
E/M By Magnetron Method by Insif India It is designed to determine e by m, by magnetron method. It consists of regulated dc supply contineously variable between 0 -150 volts for anode - cathode, another regulated dc supply contineously variable between 0 - 24 volt for solenoid, three metres to take readings of anode voltage, anode current and solenoid current, one power pentode valve ( 42, 43 or eq ) prewired as diode with end connector and one short solenoid to keep valve inside. Set up description: The set up has three units, as power supply unit, the valve and the solenoid. The valve and solenoid are straight forward in construction and used as a part of power supply unit. Terminals are provided with solenoid and power supply unit to connect them while the valve has an end plug in pm8 form. the power unit has three controls designated as H.T. volts situated at right side, DC volt at left side and POI_ just under of DC control. The H.T. control provide contineously variable control upon anode cathode voltage, the DC control controls voltage ( current ) of the sole-noid and POL switch which is a three way selector provided to change the current polarity in solenoid. In forward mode the red terminal is +ve than black and in re-verse mode it is -ve than black. In off position both terminals are cut -off from supply regulator and therefore no current flows in solenoid. A set of terminals marked as 'to solenoid' provided to connect solenoid while an octal base provided to connect valve marked as 'to valve' .. sr no. Both supplies are current limited and short circuit pro-tected.
