Encaustic Scraping
Scraping is a technique some artists use with encaustic to reveal the history of layers and colors in their painting. This demo video was inspired by artist and R&F Tier Artist Instructor Lorraine Glessner who writes a wonderful blog called Art Bite. Here's a link to her original post on scraping: https://lorraineglessner.wordpress.com/2018/07/25/encaustic-paintsmash-basic-scraping-methods/ Materials used in this demo include: R&F encaustic paint, Ampersand Encausticbord, a pear shaped loop tool, a Sculpture House wax scraper, and a razor blade. To read a post on this demo with step by step instructions and a helpful tip or two, visit our blog Unique Color: https://www.rfpaints.com/unique-color R&F’s Resources page provides downloadable articles and lists to help you find a teacher in your area, download a color chart, learn the history of encaustic, and ensure you are practicing safety in the studio: https://www.rfpaints.com/resources Music credit: Soft Feeling by Cheel.
