Timelapse of the way I make endless loop bow string for Olympic Recurve. My preferred materials are BCY X and BCY servings. I've discovered that not all risers and limbs for Olympic Recurve are exactly the same length. Thus, I have to make slight length changes for similar equipment (i.e., 25" riser and medium limbs). I've found a difference of 1/4" inch. The end loops are made in two different colors using BCY 2X. I usually match the loops to the bow string. In this case, white string, white end loops. The end serving is usually made in black unless requested otherwise. The center serving is BCY Halo 0.014" with tie on nocking points. The nice part of these nockings points is that they are adjustable. By twisting on the serving, the nocking points move up and down and can be adjusted to match the archer's needs. I also stretch string to even the tension on the individual strands. I usually load up to 350-400 lbs. After about 20-30 minutes it settles down to about 275-250 lbs of load on the string. This helps to minimize unwanted brace height changes. It usually takes about 90 minutes to make a single color bow string, I've cut it down to 8 minutes so you can get a glimpse on how they are made. This is my homemade jig to make bow strings. Commercial jigs can cost up over $500.
