EndTech #2 - Starting Over

On July 16th, 2020, the EndTech server was deleted accidentally when attempting to restore a backup. All of the backups were wiped in the process, no off-site backups were ever performed, and no one had ever downloaded the server files to their own computer. We managed to restore some of the data, such as the entirety of our creative server files. Unfortunately, most of the survival server was unable to be recovered. I myself wasn’t aware of the state of our backup “solution” until this event, up to this point I’ve actively avoided getting involved in the administration of the server, assuming things were all being handled properly. I can’t help but feel some level of fault on my part, even though it wasn’t me who made the mistake. I’m a trusted member on EndTech and at any point I could of gotten more involved. If I had, I know this event could have been just a minor inconvenience. That said, our community has shouldered the burden of this disaster together, and are taking steps to ensure that something like this can never happen again.
