Energy system optimization modeling is a powerful new method for modeling holistic deep decarbonization pathways. In the past, such capabilities have tended to be available only in highly complex and expensive modeling tools – making them impractical to apply for planners in most countries. The new version of LEAP implements these features in ways that make them straightforward to apply.
