This video introduces Autonomous Navigation—the capability that enables autonomous systems to move safely and intelligently within their environment.
We explore the four essential stages of navigation:
- Sense & Perceive: How sensor fusion combines data from multiple sources to achieve situational awareness and self-positioning.
- Plan: Examples of global and local path-planning algorithms used to generate safe and efficient trajectories.
- Control: Techniques for accurately executing planned paths through simulation and control strategies.
The video features simulation demonstrations, practical localisation and planning examples, and a discussion on deploying algorithms to hardware for real-world use. Throughout, we use MATLAB and Simulink to model, simulate, and validate the workflows.
