Entity 40:31 (2025)
Entity 40:31 was commissioned and composed for Dr. Brian West and the Texas Christian University Percussion Orchestra in the summer of 2025. The rhythmic motif draws inspiration from the film Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning and Bulgarian folk rhythms. The working title has consistently been Entity, a reference to the film. It was subsequently combined with
Isaiah 40:31, “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.”
The piece was originally composed for 15 players, but extra players were added for the world premiere performance at PASIC 2025.
