ENTROPY IN STATISTICAL MECHANICS entropy is a measure of the number of ways a system can be arranged, often taken to be a measure of "disorder" (the higher the entropy, the higher the disorder). In this lecture, I have discussed the Boltzmann entropy formula which relates entropy with number of microstates. I have also discussed the third law of thermodynamics which defines the entropy at zero temperature and covered some other concepts including Boltzmann distribution law and mean path length.
