(especially after my stroke). however it’s made… the song either connects or it doesn’t. Entropy - ©Richard Murrey Woke up feelin’ like a rusted hinge.Every move got a memory in it.Used to run like a southbound wind.Now I measure out the minutes. Coffee’s cold before I get it down.Hands don’t quite obey me.Ain’t no doctor fixin’ worn-out parts.Just patchin’ what’s still shaky.Yeah I’ve been readin’ ‘bout the way things go.How everything unwinds. They call it entropy… slow decay.Everything slips, won’t ever stay.Stars burn out and bodies do too.Ain’t no deal you can renew. But I’m still here in the in-between.Half held together, half unseen.If this is losin’ piece by piece.I’ll raise a glass to entropy. Mirror don’t lie but it don’t explain.Who that man’s supposed to be.Lines on lines like a weathered map.Of roads that ran through me. Things I built, yeah they still stand.But they creak in the silence.Every nail and every plan.Got a little bit of violence.Guess it takes a little breakin’ down.To see what don’t unwind.
