In this video, we start to get our hands wet by installing Ubuntu, a popular distribution of Linux, as our free and open source operating system. In order to avoid manipulating your system’s configuration and keep it untouched, we do this inside a virtual machine, and then, we begin to build up our scientific computing environment on top of that.
