[Environment Setup 5] Install Visual Studio Code and Atom using installer packages and dpkg
Our discussion on package managers is not over yet. There is still one technique you can use to install programs using these package managers: installation packages. In Debian-based distributions, these files come with the .deb extension. The process is very similar to the traditional installation process in Windows, in which you download the installer package and run it. In Linux, it’s more or less the same, but you need to ask package managers to take care of that. In this video, we go for such an approach to install Visual Studio Code and Atom, two advanced code editors we will use a lot in the upcoming videos. Commands and Materials: In order to follow the videos more efficiently and reproduce the workflows, you may need the list of commands we have executed in each video.
