This sounds simple enough, but the execution is a lot more complicated. At EOSC-hub, we have helped to overcome the difficulties of such a massive infrastructure, by taking part in the construction of EOSC. A single contact point for European researchers and innovators to discover, access, use and reuse a broad spectrum of resources for data-driven research. ➔ There is a portal and marketplace – because what is a hub without easy access to resources? ➔ In order to plan, deliver, operate and control the hub’s services, a stable IT system is required. That’s where the Service Management System comes in. ➔ Okay, so who can actually join the party? That is decided by the rules of participation. ➔ Knowing that other services need to be integrated into the hub, we need a system that is scalable. By providing a toolset, Internal Services are able to smoothen out such cases. ➔ To speed up the research process and enable cross-disciplinary collaboration, external services are in place as well. ➔ We designed Business and sustainability models to keep the hub up and running for years to come. ➔ We also set up the Digital Innovation Hub to make it easier for companies to access the digital technologies and services of EOSC. ➔ All of this comes with a set of guidelines that define the architecture of EOSC’s functions. ➔ Last but not least, we offer advanced training courses and material to support the whole research life cycle. All nine services were developed by us – thereby forming our contribution to the realisation of the EOSC.
