Episode 9: Compare with Matrices
AI-Powered Comparison Matrices in Canvas Chat (with Web Search Grounding) In this video, I show a new Canvas Chat feature for making structured decisions using AI-powered comparison matrices. I demonstrate using the /matrix command to compare Python, JavaScript, and Rust for backend development across criteria like speed and ecosystem, then edit the extracted rows and columns and enable web search grounding. After creating the matrix, I use Fill All to populate each cell while viewing progress and sources as the system summarizes information per cell. I then inspect and copy cell contents, and open a row details modal to pin a side-by-side comparison of Python and JavaScript, noting Python’s slower speed but mature ecosystem versus JavaScript’s faster performance and massive ecosystem. I close by previewing the next video on importing PDFs to chat with them. 00:00 Welcome and Overview 00:22 Matrix Command Demo 00:45 Configure Rows and Columns 01:13 Fill Matrix with Sources 02:18 Inspect and Copy Cells 02:25 Side by Side Comparison 03:17 Wrap Up and Next Video
