This video will demonstrate, in detail, how to evaluate functions when given a number to substitute in. I will thoroughly discuss the notation f(x) and the difference between evaluating when f(8) and f(x)=8, for example. We will discuss this notation given equations, writing coordinate pairs/points, graphs, tables, and real-life word problems. I will also show a TI-NsPIRE calculator trick (Nsolve - Buttons: Menu, 3, 1, put the full equation, coma, variable/letter, enter) to solve these questions quickly and efficiently. Feel free to skip through the video and whatever part you need help with. Equations: Begins at 0:48 Coordinate Pairs/Points: Begins at 10:40 Graphs: Begins at 11:22 Tables: Begins at 14:33 Word Problems: Begins at 15:55 Continue to learn more about functions by watching part 2 here: https://youtu.be/5pI1F9R2KDg ! Most importantly... if this video helped you in any way, please leave a COMMENT! I'd love to hear from my viewers. :) #math #maths #mathematics #mathstricks #mathlessons #mathlearning #algebra #mathhelp #teacher #education #learnmaths #backtobasics #backtoschool #youtube #youtuber #youtubevideo #education #educational
