In this video we explain what happens along the heat exchanger in an evaporator and how that affects the temperature difference between the two flows as well as the overall heat transfer coefficient. We then introduce the simplification that ∆T=Ts-T and the _apparent_ overall heat transfer coefficient as a way to make approximate, generally applicable design calculations for evaporators
