In this video we take a look at all the samples used in Dr Dre's album '2001' (also coined 'The Chronic 2001' by fans of Dr Dre), which released on the 16th of November 1999. By far his most popular album to date, selling roughly 10,601,000 copies worldwide. Originally Dre wanted to name the album ‘Chronic 2000’ however, the infamous Suge Knight, Dr Dre's former friend and owner of his former record company 'Death Row Records', released a compilation album under that name on May the 4th 1999 and threatened to sue despite the former agreement made by the pair. During this time Dre considered naming the album 'Chronic 2001', 'Dr. Dre' and 'Dr. Dre 2001'. Track Five: 'Big Ego's' I decided to leave the following sample out of the video... 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore' by Rose Royce Released 1978 This was due to me not being able to find a clear similarity to cut and include. This makes a total of 36 samples for Dr Dre's '2001' album including 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore'. Big thank you to the following sources for allowing me to compile the information found in this video... https://genius.com/ https://www.whosampled.com/ https://www.wikipedia.org/ https://allhiphop.com/ https://www.youtube.com/
