Example D_02 - Moving Phase Boundary Diffusion Simulation
This videos shows you how to create a diffusion simulation with a moving phase boundary using the Diffusion Module (DICTRA) in the graphical mode of Thermo-Calc. Three different ways to set up the simulation are presented. In this video, the growth of ferrite (BCC) into austenite (FCC) is simulated for a Steel with 0.15% carbon. The first two simulations presented in this video are isothermal, and the third is non-isothermal. ~~TIMESTAMPS~~ 0:00 Intro 1:22 Where to find more information about moving phase boundary simulations 1:48 About simulation 1 2:10 How to set up the moving boundary diffusion simulation - Method 1 9:59 Results explained 10:54 How to make plots for different variables 12:37 How to set up the moving boundary diffusion simulation - Method 2 14:48 How to set up the moving boundary diffusion simulation - Method 3 (non-isothermal) You can follow along by downloading our Free Educational Package: https://thermocalc.com/academia/free-educational-package/ View more examples videos on our Video Tutorials page: https://thermocalc.com/support/video-tutorials/ Corrections: 17:01 and 17:37 Should say Ferrite phase instead of Austenite phase
