A similarity statement states that two shapes are similar, which means the shapes have the same ratio of corresponding sides and same angles. The ratio of any two corresponding side lengths is called scale factor. The scale factor is used to find the value of the unknown side of a geometric shape, while the values of the other sides are provided. Therefore, it is fairly important to know how to write similarity statements for geometric figures and also be able to derive from the similarity statement the ratio and/or the scale factor. This video paces you through how to write a similarity statement, watch on!
