Expanding Brackets Part 2: Understanding Binomial Expansion

Expanding binomials is often taught using the acronym FOIL (First, Outside, Inside, Last), however this doesn't build understanding for students, and therefore factorising quadratic equations down the line can be tricky. Instead, teaching students how to expand binomials using the area of a rectangle is a great way to build intuition, and help students with the building blocks of the concept to help facilitate factorisation skills down the line.
