Expando easily breaks hard Granite

I went to look at a very rocky site cut for a new home in Greenvale, there was Granite sticking out everywhere. The guy who did the site cut had a breaker on his mid size excavator, but he was unable to break any of the rock. The owner was very keen to save money on the job, I suggested that some of the rock looked a bit decomposed and if he brought in the largest excavator that he could get to the site, he would be able to break out some of this rock. This he did and the operator was very tenacious and pulled out more rock than I expected. After a few days work, destroying the breaker point and also loosing a pin out of the breaker, he decided that the big bit of rock in the corner was not going to yield. At this point I was summoned to provide a solution, I decided that his rock was not a good candidate for blasting because it was very large and very close to the neighbors home, as well as this there was no soil on the site to cover the rock with.
