Experiencing the District with CAUSES

In this TV special, the University of the District of Columbia’s College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) partners with local tv personalities, the mother and daughter duo, Laurita & Lauren Portee,’ to explore how education, innovation, and community engagement are transforming the nation’s capital. This episode highlights the College’s wide range of programs and activities, including urban agriculture, food systems, environmental science, sustainability initiatives, nutrition, community wellness, and hands-on learning opportunities is preparing future leaders to address real-world challenges such as food security, climate resilience, healthy living, and sustainable urban development. Through engaging conversations and on-site experiences, CAUSES shows some of the many ways land-grant universities connect academic study with practical solutions that benefit communities. This episode is the first of many aimed at showcasing the important role UDC CAUSES plays in creating a healthier, more sustainable future for Washington, D.C. and beyond.
