Exploring CODAP : A Guide to Data Analysis
This video provides a basic tutorial for getting started with CODAP. This includes importing data, labeling variables, creating a hierarchy, creating new variables, creating graphs, adding descriptive statistics, and saving your files. To access CODAP go to: https://codap.concord.org/ To access CODAP interface directly: https://codap.concord.org/app The in this video are using a dataset titled “artists” that can be found at this link: https://tinyurl.com/artistsdata - this is a dataset collected by Holland Stam, a Masters student at Duke University about how much space artists take up in art history textbooks. The list of variables can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/artistvariables. Below is a list of resources that may be helpful in your own CODAP journey: • Awash in Data, a free online book written by Tim Erickson using CODAP. This book contains introductory lessons in data science that can be used by teachers or students.
