As the growing prevalence of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools presents a pressing challenge within higher education, developing robust critical AI literacies has emerged as an essential imperative for both educators and students navigating this evolving landscape. In this session, we explore how we can develop our own critical AI literacies as educators, and how we can develop students' critical AI literacies. We will unpack the multiple dimensions of critical AI literacies and discuss various pedagogical strategies educators can use in class. While we will offer practical pedagogic strategies, we will also offer some preliminary critiques of critical AI literacies as a theoretical concept.
