We discuss briefly exponential and logistic growth in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic. We present the mathematical forms of these growth modules and some of their properties. We use the statistical programming language R to fit these models to the number of COVID-19 cases in England. In addition, we discuss the use and interpretation of the derivative of the logistic growth model. The video also illustrates the way in which some of the material has been presented on our Mathematical Sciences programmes during lockdown.
