Extrude in Creo | Creo Modelling Tutorials

An extrude feature is based on a two-dimensional sketch. It linearly extrudes a sketch perpendicular to the sketching plane to create or remove material. You can create the following extrusion types:  Protrusion—Solid, Thickened  Cut—Solid, Thickened  Extruded surface Surface trim—Regular, Thickened To activate extrude, ➢Click Model ➢ Extrude and create a sketch to extrude. This method is referred to as action-object. ➢Select an existing sketch and then click Model➢ Extrude. This method is referred to as object-action. ➢Select a datum plane or planar surface to use as the sketching plane and then click Model ➢ Extrude. The various depth options which are available in Extrude are ➢Blind—Extrudes a section from the sketching plane to the specified depth value. ➢Symmetric—Extrudes a section on each side of the sketching plane by half of the specified depth value in each direction. ➢To Next—Extrudes a section from the placement reference to the first surface that it reaches. ➢Through All—Extrudes a section from the placement reference to the last surface it reaches. ➢Through Until—Extrudes a section to intersect with a selected surface. ➢To Selected—Extrudes a section to a selected point, curve, plane, or surface, or to an offset or a translation of a selected reference. You can add a taper to an extrude if the section of the feature is a closed loop. You cannot taper an extrude if a non closed loop is selected to add a thickness. The Extrude tab must be open to perform this procedure. 1. Click the Options tab. 2. Select the Add taper check box. 3. Type a value for the taper angle from -89.9° to 89.9° in the box.
