Most of the #rapier postures in #Fabris are quite forward leaned, with the head being in front of both feet or above the lead foot. Plate 11 is one of the exceptions to this; here, Fabris shows a guard with the upper body leaned way back. This means that if an opponent wants to hit you or engage your blade, they'll have to get closer... and that's when you can spring your distance trap!
