There are various methods for factorising harder quadratics ("non-monic"), including the AC Method, Table Method, and even trial and error. However, over the years I have grown fond of this "hack" method I'll show you here.
Even now I have mixed emotions with this...it feels "hacky" and is essentially just a method that bypasses the need for much understanding; as a teacher, that never sits quite well with me! However, the sheer speed and ease of this method can't be ignored!
