Falling Leaves
🍂 This song is one of those that kind of writes itself when you stop fighting the memories. “Falling Leaves” is about the kind of love that doesn’t fade when someone’s gone. It just changes form. It shows up in the wind, in the seasons, in the little things you don’t expect. For me, it’s about my mom, the lessons she gave me, and how those pieces still shape who I am every single day. We all carry people with us, whether we realize it or not. The way we talk, the way we react, the way we keep going when things get heavy… that all comes from somewhere. This song is just me recognizing that, and saying thank you in the only way I know how. If you’ve ever lost someone but still feel them around you, this one’s for you ❤️ Dedicated to my Mother Theresa. Lyrics: [Verse 1] The wind’s been whisperin’ through the branches again, Takin’ me back to where it all began. Mama’s voice in that autumn breeze, Said, “Son, life falls like the leaves.” [Pre-Chorus] Time drifts slow, and the seasons turn, Every scar I’ve got was a lesson learned. Roots run deep where her kindness grew, And every shade of me still leads back to you. [Chorus] Like falling leaves, we fade and fly, But spring still calls beneath the sky. Each memory’s a leaf on the tree, That stands so tall ’cause she’s part of me. [Verse 2] I see her hands in the morning light, Making breakfast, saying, “Do what’s right.” Her laughter echoes down old dirt roads, And keeps me warm when the cold wind blows. [Pre-Chorus] Life keeps movin’, but I stand still, When I feel her heart through this rolling hill. The years fall down, but I still believe, Her love grows back like the summer leaves. [Chorus] Like falling leaves, we fade and fly, But spring still calls beneath the sky. Each memory’s a leaf on the tree, That stands so tall ’cause she’s part of me. [Bridge] Seasons change, but her roots remain, In the sunlight, and the rain. Every tear that falls, feeds the ground, Where her voice still calls my name. [Final Chorus] Like falling leaves, we fade and fly, But spring still calls, we never die. Her spirit’s the shade that shelters me, Every leaf of love, every memory. [Outro] The wind’s been whisperin’ through the trees, Mama’s still here… in the falling leaves.
