Here we are. Now that it's all over, I find myself wanting to slow down time, to stop the clock. This show has taught me so many things. It's okay to not be like everyone else, to be different. In fact, it's better to be different, to not be conformative, to break the cycle. Sometimes, you may feel like you don't belong anywhere, like El or Will, but you will see that there is a place for you. A person who will understand you better than you understand yourself. Your very own Mike or Robin. People who see you and love you for who you are. Both El and Will have been through hell from a very young age and the world has always been cruel to them. Where Will got to survive in the end, El didn't get the same fate. It's unfair but sometimes that's life is. Unfair. Cruel. Devastating. It beats you down until you feel like you can't get up anymore. That's when you need to believe in yourself. And if you can't believe in yourself, someone else will. And that will give you the strength to fight on and to develop and hone your own superpowers. You can be a superhero just like El, Will, Kali or Bob. Don't ever stop believing in what you know is real even if people call you crazy. Without Joyce and her Christmas lights, they would have never found Will or Hopper. So don't let others convince you of anything else. Another thing that this show taught me, is that no matter how old you are or how many things have happened to you, you always have the possibility to change. Such as Steve Harrington, who started out as a jock and became one of the most beloved characters in the show. You can also be a bad person and still end up being a hero, just like Billy Hargrove. And you're still able to grief someone who hasn't been kind to you, just like Max Mayfield. S4 E4 titled "Dear Billy" is one of the most powerful episodes of the entire show and for that my favorite one. It's important to always remind yourself that there are people who love you. Who are right in front of you and who you can talk to. If you ever wonder if life is even worth living, ask yourself who would come running to save you from Vecna's curse. Who would know your favourite song and who would catch you when you fall. So, never stop running up that hill. Now onto Mike Wheeler. I feel like his character's fate is one of the most tragic ones. While his friends get to move on with their lives and find happiness, he will always be stuck in some way. I don't think he will ever be able to get over El like the others. A part of him will never want to meet someone new and fall in love again. He would always be afraid of being left alone. Sadly, I think that's exactly what he will choose to be. Alone. Maybe not entirely, he will still see his friends and family from time to time, but he will never get to experience romantic love in the same way that he did when he was young. But I hope that he takes the second road, the one where he gets to accept what happened. And last but not least, Nancy "Walk em Down" Wheeler, my absolute favorite character. Fueled by guilt and anger, she dares to battle every man and monster who crosses her path. I admire her strength, resilience and the way she fiercely protects the people she loves. Even though life has tried to cut her down, she always gets back up and every time she comes out stronger. We love a badass. And wow. What a finale. It's incredibly hard to end such an amazing show so perfectly, but the Duffer Brothers really did it. I couldn't stop crying for hours and still get emotional whenever I think of the final episode. Even though some fates were devastating, i feel like everyone got their perfect ending. I love how it started with a game of DnD and ended with one, but this time they finished their campaign. They got to grow up. And now the next generation will start their own campaigns and so on. It's truly a never ending story. But also the ending of our childhoods. The ending of an era.
