Decided to take a break from working on house stuff and bring my son, DJ, (7) into the shop to build a wooden TX flag from an old 2x6 I had laying around. This was a really simple and quick project to do and turned out looking really good!
To make it, we cut the 2x6 into 3, 11" long pieces. Two pieces form the horizontal white and red stripes, and one goes vertical for the blue field and white star. With each piece being a 2:1 ratio, the flag ends up being the proper 2:3 ratio when assembled.
It was fun to build this my kiddo and encourage anyone looking for a project to do with theirs kids to give this a try.
