Fawley is situated on the edge of the new forest. Probably best known for its Exxon oil refinery, it has been in the thick of military history for centuries, be that the invention of the Caltrop device at nearby Cadland house, the local airfields and anti aircraft batteries, or the build up to Dday, with the construction of mulberry harbour casements and PLUTO pipe laying from nearby Lepe beach. Fitting then that they hold an annual armed forces day celebration.
We have been supporting this over the last few years either with the Scout or Sioux helicopter.
