The University College Copenhagen's Physiotherapy Programme uses this youtube channel to support our students skills in performing clinical examination methods and tests. The videos are used as support for teaching during the semesters, and in conjunction with clinical trials, casework and more. In this light our intention is that the videos should be viewed as a part of an overall learning modality, and not as a stand-alone learning tool, In addition, the videos can be used for practitioners, teachers and others who need a refresher of specific tests. This video is not medical advice to patients. Description of test: Assessing the longitudinal arch of the foot and the navicular drop Protocol: Mark: 1) distal part of medial malleolus, 2) tuberositas navicualare, and 3) the 1st metatarsophalangeal joint line. Compare the navicular “drop” from this line, in unsupported and weight bearing position. Positive test: A drop of more than 10 mm is considered a positive test. A big drop with no difference from unsupported to weight bearing is considered structural (flat foot).
