Had an approx 60 - 70' dead pine tree right next to my driveway -- and a little too close to my house for comfort. So, I wanted to bring it down before it fell on its own. It was unfortunately leaning 180 degrees in the wrong direction, so I needed to use wedges to bring it over and have it come down safely in the woods -- without getting hung up on any of the trees nearby.
I chose to use a plunge/boring cut to take out the middle of the tree before pushing it over with the wedges. This is how I chose to do it, but please don't use this as a guide. Take a course or call a professional if you have a tricky tree that needs to come down.
