Felt rug making by Haj Ali Halajian in northern Iran. This film was made by Dodd Raissnia when we launched Peace Industry in 2002. Peace Industry eventually went out of business due to US sanctions placed on Iran in 2017.
UPDATE: After the sanctions forced Peace Industry to close in 2017 Dodd Raissnia trafficked the business to Stockholm, Sweden. The way he was able to traffic the business was by fraud and violence against targeted family and business members. Police reports have been filed by the family with the Swedish police, The FBI and the Oakland police department. Raissnia obtained control over the family's money which was invested in Rahim Rugs AB, a Swedish company and deposited into an account that he controlled with his accomplice and Board member, Kamyar Niroumand, a Swedish resident and the brother of the Iranian factory manager, Khashayar Niroumand. By trafficking the business to Sweden and exploiting the nationalities of the American family members, Raissnia was able to obtain full ownership of the family factory in Iran which was funded by the whole family. Raissnia has taken no responsibility for his violence. He has shown the opposite of remorse. His family deserves justice. This incredible cultural legacy deserves better.
