Find dy/dx using implicit differentiation

In this math example, we find the derivative dy/dx = y' by using the power rule and implicit differentiation. We walk through each step of this process and highlight the derivative dy/dx throughout. After using implicit differentiation, we move all terms containing as dy/dx to one side, then factor dy/dx out as a common factor. To complete the process, we divide each side by the other factor on the side of the dy/dx.
