Finding Gems at Rubyvale
This week we head to Rubyvale to do some fossicking. The week starts with a ''cooking segment" as we try our hand at making Pizza on the Weber Q. while there is a little work to do on the technique it turns out crunchy but very tasty. We then head towards Rubyvale with a quick stop in Jerico along the way where we find an old school drive in picture show. When we get to Rubyvale we find the caravan park has Jurassic Park style fencing and we find out why. Then off to the Rubyvale Miners Cottage Fossicking Park just down the road from the caravan park where we try our hand at searching for sapphires. Come with us as we wash some buckets of gravel to see what we can find. Do we end up with just a pile of clean rocks or do we strike it rich and find a fortune in gems? We will let you decide. We do get to meet some bovine locals and enjoy a delicious strudel at Mugachinos, a little coffee shop in town. We also investigate a Policeman's Knob. Now don't get the wrong impression, it is a little volcanic outcrop that gives a 360 degree view of the area where we find lots of cute little rock wallabies. Come with us as we explore the Rubyvale area with our caravan and 4wd and see what other gems we can find. #caravan #adventuretravel #gemhunter #touringaustralia
