FINDING YOUR FIRST THERMAL SCOPE

These range from as low as £180 to around £1700, which fall into the bracket of low to medium budget, but well off the three or four thousand pounds that a lot of dedicated scopes cost. The first choice is designed as a spotter, and can be fitted to a rifle, or scope when using in conjunction with a mobile phone as the thermal camera screen. This is the InfiRay T2 Pro, but other thermal scope cameras are available. The second choice is one of the cheapest budget thermal scopes on the market, the Goyojo 225RF, giving you the benefits of laser rangefinder and ballistic calculator, which is suitable for airgun shooters who go ratting, or squirrel shooting at close ranges, out to around thirty yards. From here we go to the DNT ThermNight 225R. This is a great little multispectral scope, offering both Day and Night scope, plus a small thermal scope built in, offering the use as a dedicated thermal vermin hunter, or spotter. The cost reflects the dual night and thermal abilities of this scope, which also comes with laser range finder, and ballistic calculator. The last two scopes in the series are from One Leaf. These are both dedicated thermal scopes, offering laser rangefinder and ballistic calculators, as well as their unique ability to be able to swap out lenses, for different types of shooting. These are the larger, MARS MT1000 and smaller package, with all the same abilities, plus the option to use as a pistol or rifle scope, in the shape of the MARS MINI. All the above scopes come with laser rangefinder and ballistic calculators, apart from the InfiRay T2, but even that has the option to use several reticle options when used as a dedicated thermal rifle scope, when not being used as a spotter.
