Finesse the London System!
Hey! In this video we are looking at how to play against the London, and ultimately beat the London System! It has become a very popular opening in the last 5-10 years and it’s had a resurgence especially as many coaches recommend it as an easy way for white to get an easy game. It was revived and popularized by the 5-time US Champion, Gata Kamsky, back in the 90s until the modern day. The London System has also been used by Carlsen among virtually all top players, and I’ve also noticed the young Indian talents like Nihal Sarin have added their own spice to make it as venomous as possible so I recommend checking out their games if you’re interested. When creating this study, I wanted to make sure that I recommend a variation which doesn’t allow white to get an initiative, which is what happens when the black player isn’t careful. All the lines here are sound but feel free to add your input in the comments below. I still do some online coaching so check this link for more details! tinyurl.com/GarudapuraCoaching For a complete 1.d4 d5 repertoire, the only thing left to know is how to face the Catalan, Colle system (i also have a video on the Colle), and the Torre Attack. This is a last parting gift for the next year and a half since I figured that I have these notes ready anyways, so it would’ve been a shame to not talk about this :) Good luck!
