Early spring is here and your hands are cold but not THAT cold - these fingerless mittens are exactly what you need! They're worked flat and seamed, which makes them super beginner friendly, and the whole pair takes barely any yarn. One skein and you're sorted! 🌿 00:00 start 01:28 cast on 06:24 start cuffs 13:38 start palm section 15:51 increases for thumb 26:35 bind off for thumb 37:30 sew everything together WHAT YOU'LL NEED: • ~40g / ~120m of DK weight yarn (I used Malabrigo Silky Merino, 51% silk, 49% merino) • 4 mm needles (optional: 3,5 mm for cuffs & top if you like it snugger) • Stitch markers • Darning needle • Scissors GOOD IF YOU KNOW: • Long-tail cast on • Knit & Purl • M1L and M1R increases • Stretchy bind off • Mattress stitch QUICK STEPS: 1. Cast on 43 sts using long-tail cast on over two needles 2. 30 rows of 1×1 ribbing for the cuff 3. 4 rows of stockinette 4. 16 rows of thumb shaping - increase on every RS row, purl back on WS (8 increase rows, 16 new sts total) 5. Bind off 8 thumb sts at the start of RS row, then 8 more at the start of WS row 6. 8 rows of stockinette across the palm 7. 8 rows of 1×1 ribbing for the top 8. Stretchy bind off 9.
