Fitting a Water Butt Tap

I bought this water butt tap in a local Ironmongers so I can connect a hose to the wheely bin I use to collect rain water from the roof of my garden shed. I bought the tap in Merediths Ironmongers in Yate The label says 41257 Water Butt Tap Black Plastic Snap Fit It cost me £3.49 and I have no doubt I could have ordered one cheaper on eBay although I have looked and the prices I found were comparable. I thought I would support a local shop for a change and there are not many old fashioned Ironmonger shops left.
