Flaming Ministers

We are living in dangerous days. I’m not here to rehearse the headlines, but they’re impossible to ignore. Missiles, bombs, mines, nuclear subs, even another attack on national leadership at a state dinner — these stories dominate the news cycle. But behind those headlines is a deeper reality. God’s people — His children — are under daily assault in many parts of the world. The Holy Week massacres in Nigeria and the ongoing killings in northern India are heartbreaking reminders of that suffering. And when we hold all this up against the cultural decay Paul warned about in 2 Timothy 3:1–5, the outlook can feel bleak. Pastors and missionaries serve in places where danger is real — sometimes physically, always spiritually and culturally. They carry burdens most people never see. Yet even in these perilous days, we are not abandoned. Jesus’ promise in Matthew 28:20 still stands with full strength: He is with His disciple makers to the very end.
