FDNY Command Tactical Unit 1 is a 2019 Chevrolet 2500H with a Custom Compartment Body. Command Tactical operates drones and robotics at fire scenes across NYC. From Fires to Water Rescues and Collapses to Major Emergencies. They are assigned to all 2nd Alarms, Reports of Person in Water, Collapses, Major Emergencies and Special Called.
Staffed by 3 Firefighters & 1 Officer per Tour working 24 Shifts. 3 Firefighters are Pilot, VO & Data Specialist.
Officer Operates at Command Post with Command View
Pilot Operates the Drone
VO Vison Observer makes sure area is clear for power lines and drone is operating safe area
Data Specialist notifies FAA & Airports where they are flying and gets approved.
