Variable Density foams are flexible foam systems that can be adjusted in density and softness by varying the Part A in the formula. In this video I demonstrate two of my "go-to" variable foam systems: TC-266 and TC-284. TC-266 is a low density foam that can produce a 3-5lb density and it is ideal for cushion applications, puppets, filling latex skins, and muscle suits. TC-284 is a dense, 8-13lb density "padding" foam that produces an excellent skin and may be used for padding, hand props, and medical simulators. By adjusting the part A on these systems, you can raise or lower the density and also adjust the flexibility or softness of the cured foam.
