Flocking jig; SCT - Part 1

This video is about flocking a telescope and a device I designed to help install the flocking. There are TWO PARTS since it was taking too long to upload on YouTube as one video. The steel pipe I referenced was a 10-ft long black pipe, mostly used for natural gas, and I cut it into two equal 5-ft lengths. I felt the weight of the pipe and squeezing factor would aid in adhesion and eliminate air bubbles from under the flocking material. I got the idea by remembering what the first clothes washing machines top rollers did to wring/squeeze out the water from the clothes before air drying on a clothesline. Having two 5-ft lengths of pipe and movable jigs should be enough for using on most SCT’s, Newtonians and Dobsonian types of telescopes. Hope this helps some others wanting to flock their telescopes inside area. I had scrape 2x4 wood, ¾” plywood and washers, so the only real cost for making the jig was, a 10-ft pipe and some wing nuts, threaded rods and EZ softwood threaded inserts.
