Flush setting a round brilliant diamond tutorial

There's 50 million ways to skin a cat (bad analogy).... but this is the way I flush set a stone. At times I'll hammer set the lip over the girdle, but that's only if I'm working with heavy thick thick silver and much larger stones. You can flush set a stone without drilling all the way through the surface, but then you are battling reflection, security of the CUTLET (lol) and opening yourself up to a dull looking stone. That's my opinion anyways. And I'm sorry for the swearing (not sorry).. I'm a sailor with a sailor mouth. Smithing brings out more frustration for me than lapidary. I've accepted that's how it'll always be.. ✌🏼 I've made peace with my expletives, as i cannot control them. Smith-ON my friends! Try something you've been scared or intimidated to try! Push yourself into scary uncharted territory. That is precisely how you expand your skillset! You will surprise yourself with your untapped and hidden perseverance! Be prepared to make boo boos and booger things up! But don't give up!!! Try and try again until you get it mastered! I taught myself, and you can too!
