Foil - Attack Counter vs Attack Into Preparation #2
Clip 1 – Attack Counterattack Watch carefully who moves first. The right fencer starts with both feet and blade, while the left fencer lunges too late. This is a classic attack counterattack for the right. Clip 2 – Attack into Preparation Notice the left fencer moves her feet first but doesn’t commit the blade. The right fencer lunges into that initial movement. This is an example of attack into preparation. Clip 3 – Attack Counterattack Pay attention to the right fencer’s feet—they move significantly ahead of the left. When the left reacts late, the right has the priority, creating a attack counterattack situation. Clip 4 – Attack into Preparation The left fencer moves forward but then stops to parry. The right fencer attacks into that preparation, taking advantage of the left’s change in intention. Clip 5 – Attack Counterattack The right fencer moves first with feet. The left lunges arm-first but is too late. The point goes to the right fencer as a attack counterattack. Clip 6 – Attack into Preparation The right fencer pushes forward and searches with her blade. The left fencer attacks during that preparation. This demonstrates attack into preparation while the opponent is extending and testing distance.
