The follicle is a structure composed of somatic cells (follicular or granular cells, theca cells and ovarian stromal cells) that surround the female germ cell (the oocyte), and these are modified each cohort (group of primordial follicles). it develops. The name given to each state of follicular development varies depending on the bibliographic source, but the process is the same. The importance of Folliculogenesis lies in the fact that it allows the development of female gametogenesis (oogenesis) and ovarian steroidogenesis.
