Follow the Ocean

Using the rhythms of the waves to conduct a generative ambient patch. At the heart of this patch is a field recording of waves on a Pacific Ocean beach: this feeds into Fumana, and all those envelope followers drive the other voices in the patch. The main drone is a Verbos Harmonic Oscillator vocoded by Fumana, but also with its harmonics modulated by Fumana outputs. The chords come from Clouds in Resonestor mode, sequences and modulated by various sources that take their cues from the waves. There’s an occasional quasi-acid melody that is clocked and modified by systems that depend on the distribution of frequencies in the sample. Various other filters, reverbs and delays come in and out of play, occasionally scaring the bejebus out of me.
