Following Jesus is more than a moment, it is a lifetime of surrender. In this passage, Jesus calls Peter to trust Him not just with the present, but with the future. A future Peter cannot control, but can fully entrust to Christ.
Pastor Jeff reminded us that following Jesus also means letting go of comparison. When Peter looked at others, Jesus brought him back with a simple call: stay focused on Me. Our calling is not to measure our lives against someone else’s, but to faithfully follow where Jesus leads us.
And in that faithfulness, our lives begin to tell a story. A testimony that points others to Him. When we surrender control, reject comparison, and stay close to Jesus, He uses our lives to leave a lasting impact.
