We’re back at our mountain custom home, and the crane is finally on site. In this episode, we walk through the full setup process—from leveling outriggers to throwing on counterweights and stretching the boom sky-high (nearly clearing a massive tree). While the crane gets dialed, we prep the foundation for floor framing, shim with laser precision, frame in a beam pocket, and run into a classic framing mistake that sets us back.
We talk floor ledgers, LVLs, insulation tricks, pony wall framing, and even drop some Larry Haun classics along the way. Oh—and yes, it starts snowing.
🔧 If you’re a framer, builder, or just love seeing the behind-the-scenes of mountain home construction, this one’s for you.
